The first visit took place in Exeter for the Devon County Show, an event promoting regional life and agriculture, held annually since 1872. On this occasion, the group met and paid their respects to the Duchess of Kent, wife of Prince Edward, first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II. In 1974, the group’s experience reached an even more significant moment when they were received by Queen Elizabeth II herself during their performance at the South of England Show in Ardingly, near London”.
